
We were engaged by a Catholic, R2 research university with more than 10,000 students to pursue merger and acquisition opportunities. Among these was the potential acquisition of a smaller Catholic liberal arts institution in a new geographic area. We were able to convince the target to enter exclusive negotiations with our client before it reached out to the market, and the parties signed a Letter of Intent and 90-day exclusivity agreement. The target ultimately failed our client’s due diligence investigation due to financial concerns and future campus use restrictions.
Our client continues to seek to grow in scale, program range and geographic footprint. We work with them on selected acquisition opportunities.
